A government entity of U.A.E. is inviting applications for Head of Projects & BD, who will identify and develop new projects, associated or not with existing assets in the region, and provide guidance in the development and execution of the Company’s strategy to expand its business in the region.
Playing a pivotal role in developing and executing of the Company’s strategy across the power and water business. The Head of Projects will be tasked with effectively identifying and evaluating organic and acquisitive growth opportunities that align with the Company’s strategic corporate objectives and assessing the viability of such opportunities;
Partnering effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the Company is well positioned to achieve its growth agenda;
Maintaining a strong perspective on industry trends and proactively positioning the Company to capitalize on prospective opportunities including new technology;
Providing ongoing guidance and support to the project planning and execution teams to properly manage project scope, timelines, cost estimates and resource requirements to effectively deliver on green field and brown field developments consistent with the Company’s strategy. This may include the selection and assessment of external consultants, negotiating commercial terms with EPC and O&M firms, conducting due diligence on project proposals and RFPs, conducting feasibility studies on commercial and technical aspects where appropriate;
Delivering internal presentations to senior leadership to properly communicate the value-creation opportunities associated with particular transactions where the Company can capitalize on maximizing asset and shareholder value and establish long term sustainable growth for the Organization;
Fostering a corporate culture that promotes unwavering commitment to safety and sustainability, technical and commercial excellence, team work and people development, ethical practices and individual integrity, mutual trust and respect, calculated risk-taking and creativity;
Building, retaining and motivating a high caliber team capable of delivering on the Company’s growth agenda;
Reviewing and reporting regularly to the Company’s Power & Water leadership team on overall progress and results against operating and financial plans and initiating courses of action for improvement where necessary;
Acting as a key spokesperson for the Company in the market. It is expected that this executive will be an effective liaison for the Company with partners (both current and prospective), government and regulatory bodies, relevant industry associations, and others when necessary
Strong financial understanding with an ability to identify long-term value creation consistent with the Company's financial strategy;
Significant Management and leadership skills with experience recruiting, retaining and developing a high performing team.
Minimum 15 years professional experience is preferred.
Significant Power or Water industry experience and a proven track record of creating value through successful business development in one or more large-cap company environments;
Significant business development experience and a current perspective on market opportunities, technologies and trends;
A strong network within the global power or water industry with reputation for possessing high integrity, for delivering results and for collaborating effectively with joint-venture partners.
